IR Thermostat Control with Arduino

Phil Anderson, a member of Programming Electronics Academy, wanted to build a thermostat control for his Zero Breeze Mark 2 air conditioner in his van.

So he dove in, built and programmed it.

Here are some pictures and videos of his project…

One of the great things about Arduino, it’s such a popular platform that you can find lots of examples to work with…

So, Phil was able to borrow a lot of the code for this project from online.

However, as anyone who has ever worked with Arduino knows, it’s knowing how to stitch stuff together and make changes when necessary that requires some real skill.

When Phil began the training at PEA, he’d already been using Arduino on and off for a bit.

Here’s what he said:

“I wanted to start [the PEA training] from the beginning as I had no structure to my learning to date.

I am glad I did … as there were some really little golden nuggets of information, helping to join my current understanding so far.”

Nice work on your project, Phil!
